AdvCash is located in the Central-American Belize and has been launched in 2014. The identity of the owners remains mystery as there is not much of an information is available about them. All they let us know that the company has a staff with 20+ years experience in international finance and electronic payments. AdvCash is owned by Wave Crest Holdings Limited, a payment provider incorporated in Gibraltar.
The company also posted two licenses on their website that it’s activities are authorized by the International Financial Services Commission of Belize. The licenses are for international money transmitting and payment processing.

The core idea of AdvCash is to ease the payroll problems of those who work freelancers with the e-wallets connected with plastic and virtual debit cards that are backed with bitcoins. AdvCash cards are accepted at those merchants and ATMs that are accepting Mastercard and VISA. Beside the usual three major currencies (USD, EUR and GBP), AdvCash also offers an account in RUB that is opening the bitcoin debit card market to Russia.
Although the website only lists 50 countries that are excluded from the services, digging a bit deeper it turns out that there are even more countries, including the United States where they do not ship the bitcoin debit cards. Countries in Africa and in the Middle-East are on the list of countries that are explicitly excluded from the service along with Venezuela.
AdvCash issues bitcoin debit cards for unverified users. There are some limitations using the AdvCash account without verification. Non-verified account owners are not able to fund the account with bank transfers and only able to withdraw 500 USD daily, 2500 USD a monthly. The total top up amount is 2500 USD per month, however there is limitation on spending the funds online is the same as for the verified users.
The limits for verified users are higher, although not too much higher. Maximum 3000 USD can be transferred to the AdvCash account at once and the same amount is the daily limit for ATM withdrawals. Users can spend up to 10000 USD daily online and at the POS terminals of merchants accepting VISA or Mastercard.
Fees and Pricing Schedule
Unlike many bitcoin debit card provider, AdvCash does not charge any monthly or annual fee for using its services. The AdvCash card costs 4.99 USD if it is ordered right after registration. If the card is ordered later than seven days after registration, the price is 14.99 USD. So better decide to use it quickly! Pin is an additional 1 USD if requested with the card.
Interestingly it is free to top up the E-Wallet account from SWIFT and SEPA transfers does not cost anything. Then transferring the funds from the E-Wallet to the card costs 0.99 USD each time. So in case of the maximum 3000 USD top up, this flat rate translates into only 0,033% fee. Of course at only 100 USD, this means 1%, so it is worth to consider first the amount of money needed on the card.
Funding the account from alternative payment providers is charged between 0.95% and 4.25% depending on the source of the funds. Money arriving to the E-Wallet charged at 0.95% from OKPay, eCoin and EPESE, while the funds from Payeer costs 4.25%.
All prices in the pricing schedule are equal amount expressed in USD and EUR. Withdrawing money from domestic ATM has a flat rate of 1.99 USD. International ATMs cost an extra 1 dollar (2.99USD) and AdvCash also charges 2.95% FX fee from currency translations, that is just slightly below the average 3% rate on the market.
If users may decide to withdraw funds from the card other than in the form of cash or purchases. each time 0.99 USD is charged just like at funding the card from the E-Wallet.
AdvCash User Experience
AdvCash.com has many nicely designed cartoon styled diagrams explaining the service that is useful for bitcoin rookies. Although the website is nicely built it is missing some crucial information that the expert eyes may seek. For example the ownership credentials are not listed on the page and there is also a confusion on which countries do they offer services to.
It is not a surprise that the platform is also available in Russian, since RUB is one of the acceptable base currencies for the AdvCash bitcoin debit card.
After login, the AdvCash services can be reached from a handy dashboard where everything is just 1-2 clicks away. Unfortunately at this point, smartphone apps are not available yet.
The site clearly shows the USD, EUR, GBP, RUB currency exchange rates live as well as the bitcoin price. The BTCUSD price is in a medium range in spite of that the funding of the account is not charged that much. The table also shows if the currency pairs recently got weaker or stronger both with an arrow and the color (red or green) that makes it easier to follow the market.
Users may reach AdvCash beside the usual social media channels in email and a contact form submits the issues opened with ticket numbers. The FAQ is relatively detailed and has a search functionality but still does not provide the about mentioned missing information. They also have a hotline open from 11 AM to 20 PM GMT to answer any queries. AdvCash responds directly to issues raised at bitcoin forums.
When checking the credibility of AdvCash, there are some scam reports and complaint about the AdvCash API and that users have not received their bitcoin debit cards within an acceptable timeframe.
The AdvCash bitcoin debit card has a promising price structure with the zero monthly maintenance fee and the flat rate for transfers between the card and the E-Wallet. Beside the three major currencies RUB is also available that is probably a huge help for users on the Russian bitcoin market. Currently unfortunately no mobile applications are available, although it seems that they are working on those. However the company website is missing the owner information that along with the user complaints on forum ruins the credibility of the company a bit.
- No monthly maintenance fee
- RUB as available currency
- free top up from SWIFT/SEPA transfers, flat rate for transfers
- no apps available
- no information on ownership structure or executives
- daily limits on purchases for even verified users
